Upcoming Referendum regarding LOSAP:

LOSAP (Length of Service Award Program) is a program set up to reward volunteer firefighters for their service to our community.  In order to benefit from LOSAP, firefighters must gain a certain amount of points every year by attending drills, alarm responses, community functions and serving the Village.  LOSAP is meant to act as a retirement benefit for volunteering their time when they retire.  Not all are eligible as it is a “point based” program.  At the upcoming election, the Village plans to hold a referendum on lowering the entitlement age requirement from 62 to 60 in order to receive their LOSAP award and will be asking if  you are in for of this amendment.
