The Village of North Syracuse Police Department announced today that they have arrested three people in connection with a fraudulent check cashing scheme. On June 17th 2013 North Syracuse Police were called to the M&T Bank at 507 South Main Street to investigate a forgery in progress. Police indicate that a black male entered the bank and attempted to cash a fraudulent check for an amount exceeding $5,000. The male was arrested and charged with attempted grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument. On June 18th 2013, with assistance from the Syracuse and Dewitt Police Departments, two other subjects, who supplied the first individual with the forged check, were also arrested.
